INLAND CONTAINER DEPOT, CHAKERI, KANPUR

Inland Container Depot, Chakeri, Kanpur became operational w.e.f. 1^st Aug., 1995. M/s C.W.C. are the custodian of I.C.D. Containers are being stuffed and sent to the port-of-Exit from Kanpur. The Government of India have notified this I.C.D. both for Import and Export purposes. This I.C.D. is located at Chakeri, G.T. Road, Ahirwan, Kanpur.

INLAND CONTAINER DEPOT, JUHI RAILWAY YARD, KANPUR

Inland Container Depot, Juhi Railway Yard, Kanpur became operational w.e.f. 29.09.2000. The Commissioner of Customs, Kanpur vide Notfn. No.01/2000 Customs (NT) dated 11.07.2000 issued under Section 8(b) of Customs Act, 1962 has notified "Customs Area" of Inland Container Depot situated at Juhi Railway Yard, Kanpur. The facility for movement of Containers is available between ICD, JRY, Kanpur and all Major Ports and Air Ports and vice versa. The trans-shipment of Containerised Cargo to ICD, JRY, Kanpur from all major ports and vice versa is by rail and road.

M/s Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) acts as custodian of the goods at ICD, Kanpur. The movement of goods by road/ rail from all major ports and Air Ports to ICD, JRY, Kanpur and vice-versa is undertaken by M/s CONCOR on the strength of continuity bond guaranteed by the Transporter/ Carrier.

Since long Agra has been a popular world market in the field of Footwears, Woolen Carpets, Handicrafts, Leather, Garments, Glass & Glass Wares and Machinery Parts. During the last few years the exports from Agra increased manifold. Export from Agra is estimated to be to the tune of Rs.250 Crore every year.

To encourage the exporters at Agra an Inland Container Depot has been established at Agra. M/s Container Corporation of India Ltd., a Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways is the custodian. Railway Goods Complex with adequate accommodation for the office of the Customs, Banks, shipping lines and weighment facilities alongwith telephone, telex and fax has been developed at Agra.
