MESSAGE

This Commissionerate has set for itself the challenge of removing pendencies in the critical areas of work that directly impact its stakeholders viz. the members of the trade and industry. Particular focus is being placed upon disposal of all pending cases relating to Refunds, Drawback and Adjudications. Accordingly, a ‘Disposal Drive’ was initiated as a result of which all refund cases pending over one (1) month have been disposed as on 31.01.2010. Similarly pendency in adjudication has been brought down very sharply. Drawback cases are also being finalized within 10 days of receipt. Essentially, the objective is to make this Commissionerate “pendency free” by removing backlog of all such cases.

2. It may be appreciated that while the officers and staff of the Commissionerate are geared up to remove all pendencies in the identified areas of work, the same is not possible without the co-operation of the members of the trade and industry. Therefore, I urge all concerned to get in touch with the concerned officers and submit the required documents and information, if any, so that the pending cases are disposed. For this purpose the contact details of the officers concerned are given below. It is also requested that in the event a particular matter is pending for considerable time the same should immediately be informed to the concerned officer so that it too is finalized.

3. I am confident that with the co-operation of all stakeholders this Commissionerate shall succeed in achieving its objective of wiping out the pendencies.
