Selected for I.R.S.,Group ‘A’ Service by Union Public Service Commission in 1975. After completion of Probation in 1978, worked as Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Commissioner and Commissioner at Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Patna and Ahmedabad. Worked as General Manager, Opium & Alkaloid Factory, Ghazipur during the period from 1987 to 1990. Worked as Under Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance and Deputy Director, DRI, Delhi and the Tribunal etc. during the period from 1983 to 1986. Working as Chief Commissioner, Lucknow Zone since April, 2009.  Special interest in Public Finance and Social activities.
